A law firm is seeking a Mid-Senior Level Patent Litigation Associate Attorney for their Manchester office.

 

Job Overview:

  • Work closely with clients to navigate patent laws and judicial decisions, providing solutions to protect intellectual property assets.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, and correspondence for state and federal court, arbitration, and mediation proceedings.
  • Conduct complex discovery requests and defend/respond to them.
  • Negotiate and communicate with opposing counsel, prepare for and conduct depositions, and trial preparation.
  • Prepare Federal Circuit appeal briefs and supervise/training junior associates.
  • Patent trial experience is a plus.

 

Duties:

  • Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, and correspondence for court proceedings.
  • Conduct complex discovery requests and respond to them effectively.
  • Negotiate and communicate with opposing counsel.
  • Prepare for and conduct depositions.
  • Prepare for trial, including exhibit lists, evidentiary objections, motions, and witness preparation.
  • Prepare Federal Circuit appeal briefs.
  • Supervise and train junior associates.

 

Requirements:

  • 6-8 years of patent litigation experience.
  • Significant experience in drafting/responding to pleadings, preparing infringement and invalidity claim charts, Markman proceedings, patent-specific fact, and expert discovery.
  • Experience with inter partes reviews and overall litigation strategy.

 

Education & Certifications:

  • USPTO admission.
  • Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, or substantial experience litigating matters in these or similar disciplines.

 

Skills:

  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Superb judgment and communication skills.
