A law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney for their Richmond, VA office with the following responsibilities, requirements, and qualifications:

Job Overview:

The Associate Attorney will be responsible for providing legal expertise in bankruptcy/collection or civil law litigation cases. They will handle a high volume caseload, conduct legal research, and provide expert analysis and advice on legal and regulatory risks. Additionally, the Associate Attorney will negotiate with opposing counsel to achieve case resolutions and may be required to travel to various courts within the state of Virginia.

Duties:

  • Treat all clients with fairness and respect while developing fair payment solutions tailored to their financial situation.
  • Demonstrate exceptional legal research, writing, and oral communication skills.
  • Handle a high volume caseload and provide expert analysis and advice on legal and regulatory risks.
  • Negotiate with opposing counsel to achieve final resolutions of cases.
  • Travel to various courts within the state of Virginia, if needed, to represent clients and attend court hearings.
  • Work closely with the Managing Attorney to report all case activities and results.

Requirements:

  • 0-2 years of experience in bankruptcy/collection or civil law litigation, attending court proceedings, and associated regulations.
  • . from an accredited law school with an active license to practice law in Virginia.
  • A license to practice law in other states within the firm's footprint (NC, SC, TN, FL, GA, MD, MI, OH) is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of Federal Debt Collection Law and State civil litigation laws.
  • Ability to analyze case law and provide recommendations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exemplary oral and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding time management skills.

Education and Certifications:
