Job Title: Law Student Volunteer, Fall 2024 Experience: Job Description: - Executive Office for . Trustees (EOUST) Law Interns: Must work in-person at the Washington, DC office. - Intern for the Office of the Director (OD): May work with the Director or Deputy Director for Field Operations. - Director: Oversees 21 regions and 89 field offices, manages resources, sets and implements policies to further USTP's objectives. - Deputy Director for Field Operations (DDFO): Reports to the Director and provides executive level direction and guidance to United States Trustees. - Interns will assist with projects and studies related to consumer and chapter 11 bankruptcy law, conduct legal research, provide data analysis, and assist with preparation for representing the USTP in different capacities. - Field Office Law Interns: Assist attorneys in preparing for bankruptcy court appearances, developing bankruptcy fraud referrals, and monitoring section 341 meetings between debtors and creditors. - Qualifications: Excellent research and writing skills, attention to detail, desire to work in a small team, and commitment to fairness and integrity in the bankruptcy system. - Opportunity for students with a background and interest in bankruptcy, litigation, administrative law, policy, and legislation. - Minimum hours and weeks determined by respective offices. - Must be a . citizen.
