A law firm based in Richmond, VA, is currently seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The Litigation Associate Attorney will primarily focus on handling cases related to insurance defense. The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice law in Virginia and possess a Juris Doctorate degree. Previous experience in insurance defense is encouraged. Duties:

  • Represent clients in litigation proceedings, including conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, and arguing motions.
  • Manage a caseload of insurance defense matters, including personal injury, property damage, and other civil disputes.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and prepare for hearings and trials.
  • Conduct discovery, including depositions, interrogatories, and document production.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court throughout the litigation process.
  • Attend court hearings, mediation sessions, and settlement conferences as required.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Virginia.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral advocacy skills and ability to argue motions in court.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

 

Education & Certifications:

Juris Doctorate or better.
