A law firm in Sacramento is seeking a Mid-Level Labor and Employment Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience. The ideal candidate must have strong interpersonal, writing, and analytical skills, keen attention to detail, and the desire and initiative to "take ownership" over work and career. Litigation experience is important, and a substantive background in wage and hour matters is a plus. The practice includes employment class and individual litigation, unfair competition, and representing employers in various labor and employment matters, including employment discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, leaves of absence, employee accommodations, personnel policies, wage and hour compliance, and employment agreements. The candidate must have strong academic credentials and be a member of the California State Bar.

 

Duties:

  • Handle employment class and individual litigation matters.
  • Represent employers in unfair competition cases.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel on various labor and employment issues.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Participate in depositions, hearings, and trials.
  • Interface with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
  • Assist with case strategy development and implementation.
  • Stay updated on relevant labor and employment laws and regulations.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 3-5 years of experience in labor and employment law.
  • Strong interpersonal, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Litigation experience preferred.
  • Substantive background in wage and hour matters is a plus.
  • Member of the California State Bar.
  • Strong academic credentials.
