Job Overview:

The Senior Criminal Defense Attorney will be responsible for providing expert legal counsel and representation to clients facing criminal charges. They will oversee all aspects of the legal process, from advising clients on their rights to representing them in court proceedings.

Duties:

• Advise clients on their legal rights and responsibilities in criminal matters
• Draft legal documents, including motions, briefs, and contracts, related to clients' cases
• Attend pretrial hearings and represent clients during court proceedings
• Conduct legal research to analyze case law and precedents relevant to clients' cases
• Manage a caseload of criminal defense cases, prioritizing tasks and deadlines effectively
• Interview witnesses, gather evidence, and prepare clients for testimony
• Develop and implement case strategies based on analysis of probable outcomes
• Collaborate with colleagues and legal associates to strategize and support each other's cases

Requirements:

• 7-15 years of experience practicing criminal defense law
• Trial experience is highly preferred
• Experience handling complex criminal cases at the federal, state, and local levels
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the California State Bar, in good standing
