A law firm based in Anchorage, AK, is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to handle a caseload focused on all aspects of criminal defense. The Litigation Associate Attorney will manage their own caseload, focusing on criminal defense matters, while also contributing to a dynamic team of trial lawyers. They should demonstrate strong research and writing skills, effective communication abilities, and a desire to work in a collaborative and engaging environment.

Duties:

• Manage a caseload focused on all aspects of criminal defense.
• Conduct legal research and writing for case preparation.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings and trials.
• Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and court personnel.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff on case strategy and development.
• Attend meetings and conferences related to assigned cases.
• Stay updated on changes in criminal law and procedure.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Alaska State Bar or eligibility for admission.
• Prior experience in criminal defense preferred.
• Strong research and writing capabilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Desire to work in a collaborative team environment.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently.

Education & Certifications:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Alaska State Bar or eligibility for admission.
