A law firm is seeking a Labor Law Attorney for their Kansas City office. The Labor Law Attorney will be responsible for handling NLRB proceedings, union elections, representation hearings, arbitrations, grievances, positive employee relations, collective bargaining, and related contract negotiations. Excellent writing, oral advocacy skills, and academic qualifications are essential. The candidate must possess an active law license in the applicable jurisdiction or eligibility to become admitted to the applicable Bar.

 

Duties:

  • Represent clients in NLRB proceedings, including unfair labor practice charges.
  • Manage union elections and representation hearings.
  • Handle arbitrations and grievances.
  • Provide legal counsel on positive employee relations strategies.
  • Conduct collective bargaining negotiations and draft related contracts.
  • Research and analyze labor laws and regulations.
  • Draft legal documents, including briefs, motions, and agreements.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and regulatory agencies.

 

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of traditional labor law experience, preferably management-side or experience at the NLRB.
  • Strong understanding of labor laws, regulations, and NLRB procedures.
  • Excellent writing and oral advocacy skills.
  • Active law license in the applicable jurisdiction, or eligibility to become admitted to the applicable Bar.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the Bar in the applicable jurisdiction.
