A law firm is seeking a Judicial Foreclosure Associate Attorney to join their team in Honolulu, HI. The Judicial Foreclosure Associate Attorney will manage cases with a focus on residential real estate litigation, mortgage, and transactional matters. They will represent clients' interests in litigation proceedings and general collection cases. The role involves attending mediations, trials, and hearings, along with other assigned duties. The candidate should be prepared for occasional travel and collaborate effectively with team members. Additionally, the role entails writing articles, making presentations, and participating in marketing initiatives.

 

Duties:

  • Manage cases emphasizing residential real estate litigation, mortgage, and transactional matters
  • Represent clients' interests in litigation proceedings and general collection cases
  • Attend mediations, trials, hearings, and other assigned duties
  • Collaborate effectively with team members
  • Write articles, make presentations, and participate in marketing initiatives

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
  • Membership in the state Bar with all necessary licensing and continuing legal education requirements
  • 5+ years of litigation/courtroom experience (foreclosure experience a plus)
  • Proficient in legal research, writing, and taking & defending depositions
  • Well-versed in drafting pleadings, briefs, affidavits, discovery, proposed orders, and correspondence
  • Familiarity with Fastcase or Westlaw
  • Expertise in rules of evidence, introducing evidence, and civil procedure in state and federal court
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and cases

 

Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Proficiency in managing employees and P&L responsibility
  • Subject matter expertise in the field
  • Willingness to travel as needed
