Job Title: Insurance Defense Attorney

Overview

Remote role with required appearances
Full-time position with competitive salary range of $85,400 - $141,700 per year
Flexible time off with annual accrual of 20 days
Opportunity for performance bonuses, personal holidays, pension plan, and 401(k) plan with matching contributions

Responsibilities

Manage the entire legal process from investigation to trial preparation and court proceedings
Represent clients in depositions, site inspections, court hearings, trials, etc.
Negotiate settlements as required
Research applicable laws and develop legal strategies
Maintain good relationships with claims representatives and insured clients
Conduct training sessions for Legal, Claims, or other departments
Develop clear and concise legal opinions and strategies
Draft legal documents such as pleadings and motions
Provide guidance and direction to junior attorneys, paralegals, or law clerks

Qualifications

Membership in the California Bar
Appropriate special licenses to practice before boards or federal courts preferred
Minimum of 3 years of successful experience in litigation
Workers' Compensation experience a plus but not required
Experience representing insurance companies
Strong relationship building skills
Detail-oriented and analytical thinking
Ability to meet deadlines and stay organized
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of insurance law and developments in the practice of law
Proficiency with technology for remote work
