Elder Law Jobs Elder laws are the laws affecting older people and their families in the U.S. The law covers virtually all the statutes, regulations and decisions, having an impact on the lives of older Americans and their families. The issues faced by the elderly include: estate planning, wills, trusts, guardianships, arrangements for care, tax issues, social security and retirement planning and benefits, protection against elder abuse (physical, emotional and financial), neglect, and fraud, end-of-life planning, nursing homes and in-home care, Medicare and Medicaid coverage, and other concerns of older people.
