'A nurse paralegal is someone who works on health care law matters under the supervision of licensed attorneys in a law-related setting. What separates nurse paralegals from other kinds of paralegals is that nurse paralegals are licensed or registered nurses as well as legal professionals. This means they bring special nursing and health care expertise to the work they do in a legal context. Nurse paralegals do not practice law, as they are not licensed attorneys, but they help in many aspects of health care matters, including healthcare lawsuits involving the standard of care and medical protocols. Nurse paralegals are sometimes called nurse legal assistants. Nurse paralegals play an important role in assisting in all matters at the intersection of nursing, health care and the law.

Compile data for exhibits. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements: Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing. Paralegal Certification a plus. 1-5 years of experience in clinical practice. Experience in a law firm or legal department is a plus. Proficient understanding and utilization of medical terminology, anatomical drawings, laboratory tests, and medications. Possess thorough understanding of medical condition to explain or illustrate a diagnosis. Has full understanding HIPPA compliance. Understands and complies with all other related regulatory mandates.
