LawCrossing reports 30,000 attorney positions while media focuses on disappointed law graduates.
August 17, 2010
Pasadena, CA — The latest story making the rounds of the media regarding law schools is about the plight of recent law school graduates who have been unable to find good jobs.

The story, first carried in the New Jersey based Star-Ledger focuses on two Seton Hall University alumni who believe that they were misled about job prospects. Scott Bullock graduated from the school in 2005 and was the person who wrote the popular anti-law school blog Big Debt Small Law. The blog has now been closed down. The other Seton graduate interviewed was Justine Zeppone.

A recurring theme in this and other similar stories regarding recent law graduates is that the new graduates did not get six figure salaries fresh out of college. The blogs that are targeting law schools have put the third-tier schools on the defensive, with several of them saying that not every graduate can land a six figure salary.

Weighing in on the issue, LawCrossing CEO, A. Harrison Barnes believes that there are enough well paying jobs for most people. ''Even if you are from a second or even a third tier law school, these schools are ABA accredited and there are several small and mid sized law firms all across the country that are still hiring attorneys. And the attorneys there go on to have long and fulfilling careers.''

LawCrossing, the nation’s leading legal job site today shows a whopping 107,860 open positions, including 14,834 positions in the last seven days alone. The breakup of these active legal job openings is:
