Job Title: Associate Senior Legal Counsel - Public Sector
Job Responsibilities:
The Associate Senior Legal Counsel for the public sector will focus primarily on a wide range of outbound enterprise licensing and sales matters for North American public sector customers, including the . government, . state and local governments, Canadian government, and provincial and territorial governments. The candidate will deal with on-demand services, managed services, on-premise software, and professional services, which are vital areas for the company's success. Key responsibilities include:
- Negotiating complex software license and professional services agreements.
- Supporting enterprise licensing and sales of on-demand service/cloud-based offerings.
- Negotiating and driving strategic transactions and managing a significant volume of sales/revenue agreements.
- Counseling Sales, Sales Management, and other key partners on government regulation, licensing, intellectual property, anti-trust, privacy, and data security law topics.
- Shaping processes, creating templates, providing training, and working with Compliance and Government Relations teams.
- Providing innovative solutions that balance legal and business concerns.
- Working efficiently in a fast-paced environment and being attentive to details.
- Communicating effectively and actively listening to stakeholders.
- Drafting and reviewing RFPs, enterprise software licenses, and professional services contracts.
Education and Experience Information:
- A .
- Membership in good standing with the Virginia bar or possession of an active Virginia Corporate Counsel Certificate.
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant legal experience with a law firm or in-house.
- Substantive legal knowledge and the ability to counsel Sales and key partners in government procurement, software/SaaS licensing, data privacy and security, intellectual property, government compliance, and other software industry issues.
- Strong knowledge of FAR and DFARS acquisition regulations and government contract law.
- Significant experience with software/SaaS licensing.
- Experience supporting enterprise sales and cloud-based offerings is a strong plus.
- Experience with indirect sales and government compliance programs is a plus.
Salary Information:
The . pay range for this position is $140,000 -- $266,500 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Recruiters can provide more specific salary ranges for the job location during the hiring process. For non-sales roles, starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP). Certain roles may also be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
