Profile

Legal Secretary/Paralegal Duties: To enhance attorney effectiveness by providing information management and administrative support to one or more attorneys; ensuring all required documents are accurately typed and prepped for filings as required. Perform quality work within deadlines with or without supervision. Interact professionally with other employees, clients and suppliers at all times. Work effectively to contribute to the team at all times. Work independently while understanding the necessity for communication and coordinating work efforts with other employees within the firm. Transcribe and proofread legal documents. Prepare pleadings, motions and responses for cases. Finalize documents for submission including all required exhibits. File, organize, scan, copy and fax legal documents. Proactively file court documents. Download, save and print court documents. Create custom documents as needed.. Recreate documents that cannot be copied from PDF. Ensure that all individuals that are on CC receive required documents. Possibly cover reception as needed.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Associate Degree in Legal Studies or related field. 3+ years’ experience as a Legal Secretary or Paralegal. Typing speed 75+ WPM. Knowledge of legal documents. Proficiency with MS Office. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines. Excellent organization skills. Keen attention to detail.
