Legal and Compliance Paralegal RESPONSIBILITES: Track new legislation / rules and keep Legal Department informed of any updates. Research alcohol beverage federal and state issues relating to marketing and sales activities. Oversee and update all legal summaries and streamline access to such information for employees. Work with and train sales and marketing regarding advertising, social media and overall compliance with alcohol beverage laws and code requirements. Prepare and review sweepstakes and contest rules to ensure compliance with alcohol beverage laws. Review small scale sponsorship and standard vendor contracts. Assist with litigation related document review, response to production requests and investigations. Process and manage all licenses and permits including annual reports, state alcohol beverage licenses, bonds, and solicitor permits. Manage and maintain all corporates states filing. Coordinate implementation and maintenance of Legal Department contract management system including inputting contract terms, deadlines, reminders and running reports on a regular basis. Obtain all necessary approvals and signoff on company contracts, coordinate execution of contracts. Manage all files (contracts, licenses, corporate records, etc) for the Legal Department. Oversee and process Legal Department invoices. Work with Finance to manage the Legal Department’s overhead and T&E budgets. Maintain corporate minute book and ensure minutes and corporate filings are updated.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Undergraduate degree preferred. Paralegal or related experience required, 5+ years' experience preferred. Ability to work independently and take initiative. Strong communication and organization skills. Ability to oversee a number of different matters at the same time.
