Legal Secretary Duties: Provides secretarial support to the individuals assigned. Transcribes dictated documents. Composes and types routine correspondence. Receives, reads and routes incoming mail to those assigned. Maintains files of correspondence and other records as assigned. Answers telephone calls and answers routine questions of clients and staff. Takes messages for those assigned when they are unable to personally take calls or answer questions. Schedules appointments and keeps appointment calendars for those assigned. Makes travel arrangements. Backs up other legal secretaries when not busy or when asked by office administrator. Enters time into computer billing system for those assigned. Qualification: Typing speed of at least 60 wpm; knowledge of word processing software; preferably Word Perfect; office and related computer software programs; 3 years of secretarial experience are required.
