Management needs to do a better job of managing the hours worked by employees. Having extra work is nice at times, but doing this too much burns people out.

I found that working at this firm you could always get the amount of desired hours you wanted each week. There was almost always work to be done and if you like getting a lot of hours in (which I did) then you will enjoy working here.

Unfortunately, the hours can be a bit overwhelming at times. I enjoyed having long hours, but most times it occurred on short notice and greatly affected my home life. I left this position because I felt married to my work and became burnt out after a while.

Overview

Discover the Excitement of Working at Stein Mitchell Beato & Missner LLP

When it comes to navigating the complex world of government investigations, few law firms can match the expertise and experience of Stein Mitchell Beato & Missner LLP. With a rich history that includes involvement in high-profile cases such as Watergate, Iran Contra, WorldCom, and the Hurricane Katrina investigations, this firm has established itself as a leader in guiding clients through civil, criminal, and regulatory investigations under the False Claims Act.

The False Claims Act is a crucial piece of legislation that aims to combat fraud against the government. Each year, billions of dollars are paid out by the government due to false claims for payment, healthcare fraud, fraudulent tax returns, and securities scams. The sheer number and complexity of these schemes often surpass the government's ability to identify, investigate, and recover the false claims for payment. This is where Stein Mitchell Beato & Missner LLP steps in.

The firm's attorneys possess a deep understanding of the fraudulent schemes that plague various industries. From billing for unnecessary procedures to over-billing, double-billing, or upcoding, they are well-versed in the tactics used to deceive the government. They also have experience in cases involving falsifying data to secure government approvals for drugs or devices, providing kickbacks to induce the use of drugs or devices, providing defective or worthless services, marketing and promoting drugs and devices for unapproved or un-cleared uses, failing to give Medicare and Medicaid the best price for drugs, and billing for unallowable costs in defense contracts.

One of the key aspects of Stein Mitchell Beato & Missner LLP's work is their involvement in federal and state whistleblower programs. These programs incentivize individuals to come forward with information on undisclosed frauds. The primary federal law governing these programs is the False Claims Act, also known as the Lincoln Act. It encourages, protects, and rewards citizens who provide information to assist the government in identifying fraudulent claims and practices related to healthcare, defense, and other federal spending programs.

Under the False Claims Act, a private person can file a lawsuit on behalf of the federal government in what is known as a qui tam suit. If the federal government collects a settlement or court judgment as a result of the information provided by the qui tam plaintiff, the government is required to pay a portion of the recovery to the plaintiff. This not only serves as a powerful tool for combating fraud but also offers the potential for substantial financial rewards for those who choose to blow the whistle on fraudulent activities.

Joining Stein Mitchell Beato & Missner LLP offers attorneys and staff the opportunity to be at the forefront of these groundbreaking cases. The firm's track record in high-profile investigations speaks for itself, and their commitment to fighting fraud is unwavering. By joining this esteemed team, individuals can contribute to the pursuit of justice and play a vital role in protecting the government and taxpayers from fraudulent schemes.

In addition to the meaningful work, Stein Mitchell Beato & Missner LLP provides a supportive and collaborative work environment. Attorneys and staff have the opportunity to learn from some of the most experienced and knowledgeable professionals in the field. The firm's commitment to professional development ensures that individuals can continually enhance their skills and expertise.

Furthermore, the firm offers competitive compensation packages and benefits, reflecting their recognition of the value and dedication of their employees. From comprehensive healthcare coverage to retirement plans, Stein Mitchell Beato & Missner LLP strives to create an environment where individuals can thrive both personally and professionally.

In conclusion, working at Stein Mitchell Beato & Missner LLP is an exciting prospect for attorneys and staff looking to make a difference in the world of government investigations. With a rich history of involvement in high-profile cases and a deep understanding of the False Claims Act, this firm offers the opportunity to be part of groundbreaking work. The supportive work environment, commitment to professional development, and competitive compensation packages make Stein Mitchell Beato & Missner LLP an attractive choice for those seeking a fulfilling and rewarding career in the legal field.
