Forman Watkins & Krutz LLP Reviews

Advice to law firm management: N/A--- I think Management is making efforts to ensure we are listening to the feedback of our attorneys and staff. Overall, the Firm has a leadership team designed for success!

Pros: Although fairly new to the Firm, my time here has been wonderful. I am thankful to be part of a Firm that truly values teamwork, diversity, creativity and exceptional client service. The Firm offers a professional, laid-back atmosphere with a flexible work schedule. The Partners and other Firm leadership are open to new ideas and suggestions from associates and staff. This is a Firm that wants you to love your job and where you work! When you love your job, we all will accomplish great things!

Cons: With any large Firm, communication between multiple offices can be challenging. We have some areas of improvement related to technology software. However, the Firm is making a conscious effort to improve in these areas.

Partners to Avoid and Why: N/A ---- I have nothing to add in this section. I feel all the Partners have been great to work with and look forward to what 2019 holds for the Firm.

Favorite Things About this Firm: I think the Firm's retention rate and average tenure of 10 to 15 years speaks for itself! I value the Firm's work/life balance and efforts to create a Firm that puts the needs of its attorneys and staff first.

Advice to law firm management: The pay needs to be better. I think that giving associates a better base pay would motivate some to stay within the company for years as they make their way up the tiers of the firm.

Pros: When I first came to the firm, I was treated like I had been there for years. I like the people I work with. The work environment allows me to concentrate on my job. There are also a lot of opportunities at the firm to move up. It is a better firm than some of the other places I have worked for before.

Cons: The pay and incentives at the firm are not as great as other law firms I have worked for. But since there are a lot of opportunities to move up within the company, that can be corrected by trying to set a goal to be promoted.

Overview

For over 25 years, Forman Watkins & Krutz LLP has represented business clients based on the belief that creative ideas, dedication to hard work, and innovative, case-specific strategies produce better results than traditional approaches to litigation and business transactions. Years ago, we recognized that mass tort filings were altering the litigation landscape, and that law firms had to change how they perceived and tried these cases in order to succeed at the negotiating table and in the courtroom. As a result, Forman Watkins pioneered the joint defense concept to provide clients with high-quality representation and significant economic savings. Despite modest roots in Jackson, the firm's early successes paved the way for Forman Watkins to apply the techniques and knowledge gained in Mississippi mass tort litigation to cases in other jurisdictions across the nation. Today, our attorneys have litigated, managed, and tried cases in practically every major mass tort jurisdiction in the United States, with outstanding results. After beginning with one office and five attorneys in 1986, Forman Watkins has grown to become a national firm with offices in five states. Experience, innovation and creativity are the cornerstones of the firm's approach to litigation. From creating client-specific and case-specific document management software to exposing fraudulent medical screening practices in mass tort cases, Forman Watkins continues to be at the forefront of litigation throughout the United States. In addition to its leadership role in mass tort litigation, Forman Watkins has matured into a full service firm with a regional reputation for its commercial litigation and business transaction departments.

Diversity

From our beginning, we have been a team of individuals providing a fresh perspective to solve complex problems economically and efficiently. For that reason, we put inclusion and diversity at our very center by honoring individuality and equality.

In every community where we practice, we know that we have both the obligation and opportunity to demonstrate to everyone we meet why diversity is the lifeblood of our success. We embrace that challenge, both individually and collectively, by honoring and owning diversity by asking for it in boardrooms, conference rooms, and courtrooms across the country. And where we find that call answered, we inspire inclusion through dialogue and collaboration.

Summer associate program

Our Summer Associate Program takes place in our Jackson and New Orleans offices and is designed to provide our summer associates an opportunity to experience Forman Watkins' unique practice and personality. We get to know associates by working directly with them daily to capture their work, their attitude, their enthusiasm and their judgment personally. The Program is also our primary source for hiring entry-level associates.
