The Dangers of Getting Jobs Through Friends and Family

New attorney's and other professionals should be hired if they also plan on training interns or hiring interns since I did not receive as much help as I wanted to during my stay at this firm.
I started out here as an intern and enjoyed the cases that I got a chance to get my hands on. The work is very interesting and diverse and I have found the staff to be very helpful when available.
This firm is very busy. It was very difficult for me to find help as an intern at this firm since nearly everyone is busy around the clock.
Fix the pay scale and benefits package issues so the firm doesn't lose some very good and valuable employees to other companies would be my advice to the management.
The office atmosphere is good, and people are very cordial and professional. There is a great volume and variety of cases on which to work. They are quite flexible with the work hours as well.
The pay could be a lot better. It's very expensive to live around this area. The medical benefits aren't very good either, and could use an upgrade to a better company.
Sometimes it feels like the leadership team puts profits before people. Associates would probably be a lot happier if they had a better work/life balance.
There are a lot of great people working at this firm, including some very smart lawyers. It's a great place for professional development, and I've learned a lot working here.
This is not a very family-friendly firm, and expectations are high. Long hours and a very high workload are normal here. Don't expect a lot of time off.
Thank you.
