Some other law firms do a much better job of developing their talent. Look to those industries and firms to overhaul the existing culture and training programs. Develop a five-year outlook for the firm and set goals to achieve that vision.
I must say that Goldberg Kohn is a great law firm with good benefits and bonuses. There are wonderful people working here and people make workplace great. Fabulous support for pro bono projects and other benefits are also good. They also provide good amount of training too.
Generally no such thing as work/life balance, though may be possible in the smaller specialty areas, but not for attorneys. Every department is overprotective of their team and instead of improving the business they spend time protecting their staff numbers.
