Advice to law firm management: The firm should work on increasing diversity among senior attorney and partner recruiting efforts in an effort to improve junior attorney retention.

Pros: The firm has strong corporate and transactional practices. The partners seem to genuinely care about their clients and instill that feeling in junior lawyers.

Cons: The firm still struggles to recruit and retain talent from a variety of backgrounds. Despite recent efforts, the senior associates are largely white, and the membership is predominantly white men.

Partners to Avoid and Why: Off hand, I cannot think of any particular partners to avoid, though certainly some are better than others, and some are more conscientious than others.

Favorite Things About this Firm: The firm does a good job of ensuring junior lawyers get opportunities to flourish in their practice by taking on more and more responsibilities.

To get a true feeling of what it's like to be a summer associate at Moore & Van Allen, listen to what past summer associates have to say.
