High end work and cases, which is great. The firm gives staff autonomy, really pretty offices, etc.

Fast paced and busy.

Aso so place to work

Keep your team happy. Be nice to them.

They have gorgeous offices now. Some of the staff is quite friendly,

Lawyers don't give feedback on your work, or make an effort to train. This place is "each man for himself" I don't have enough experience at other law firms, but this is the first I've seen like this.

Scott Cole--he's very rigid and forceful-great for trial[not so much for professional employees.

Happy hours!!

1-2 years

I LOVE MY JOB

I started working at Scott Cole & Associates almost 2 years ago, and applying for this job was the best career decision I have ever made. The attorneys at this firm are always supportive and find ways to challenge me to grow. I have worked at a couple of different law firms, and the reason why Scott Cole & Associates feels like home is that I feel cared for, respected and above all, I feel heard. I will continue to support and work hard for this firm as long as I possibly can.

the benefits are not that great.

Best company that I have ever worked for!

I would tell the management to keep doing what they are doing!

I've been working at Scott Cole & Associates for quite some and am very happy with my job. There is always room to grow and learn. Knowledgeable attorneys and staff that are more than willing to teach, and the people want the best for each other and the firm. I'm a single mother of two small children and the firm has been very accommodating and understanding of my needs. Scott Cole & Associates is a firm that cares about its work quality and its employees.

The worst part for me is that the commute is long, but it is worth it!

There aren't any partners or associates here that I would avoid. All are friendly and have open doors.

One of my favorite things about the firm is my coworkers. They are a fun bunch!

Great people and management

If workers have a bad attitude, get rid of them work quickly.

If you want to feel part of something important, this is a great place to work. Management gives tremendous responsibility and autonomy to a talented workforce. If you want to hide in a big firm environment, this place would not be for you. The staff here enjoys great teamwork and relies on each other to get the job done. The owner is huge in promoting education and creativity.

Staff members that can’t handle responsibility tend to bring morale down and blame others for their failures. Management took longer than it should to weed out these people.

Well the firm had a couple of attorneys in past years that should have been avoided, the current make up is great.

Great vision, sense of ownership and responsibility. It’s nice to work on the “right” side of cases.

Associate mill

Practice solo if you don’t believe in your employees work ethic or advice. Take responsibility for your own orders to associates.

You get responsibility fast- because the managing partner is only around for a few hours a few days a week.

The managing partner - he will demand work that will get himself and the firm sanctioned, but then blame the whole ordeal on you.

The managing partner (there’s only one. The firm has never been a partnership likely due to the managing partner’s work style).

You grow quickly on your own. The firm has monthly happy hours. The firm was near BART but now is in Concord.

Unethical

Humble yourself. Make it about your clients and employees and not yourself. Also, decide if you want to have a firm or be a solo. Your traits are better suited for the latter.

Management is often absent, resulting in a harmony between staff. Additionally, excellent BART location...but that is changing. Luckily, the new office will be located next to a theme park.

Management. The ego of management is large. The worst part is management does not care about their clients, as evidence by management’s issues with the State Bar of California. Sanctions are a common issue at the firm.

The founding attorney (This firm is not a partnership). His unethical ways might result in yourself being sanaction, as it has previously occurred.

BART location - but that is changing. Besides that, the employee happy hours. Due to turnover, management will take you out for two drinks every four months.
