Porter Hedges LLP follows the set of hiring criteria outlined below.
Top academics; law review and other journal experience; Moot Court and Mock Trial; prior work experience.
Porter Hedges believes that pro bono activities are an important professional responsibility. Our firm subscribes to the American Bar Association Code of Professional Responsibility core principles that the basic responsibility for providing legal services for those unable to pay ultimately rests with the individual lawyer. Further, that every lawyer, regardless of professional prominence or workload, should find time to participate in serving the disadvantaged. Our entire firm encourages a strong commitment to providing pro bono legal services. To foster an environment of helping those in need, Porter Hedges maintains an internal pro bono awards program presented yearly to the attorney, or group of attorneys, who has shown an outstanding commitment to pro bono practice. As well, the firm offers credit hours to both of counsel and associates attorneys for their pro bono efforts.
Thank you.
