Beattie Padovano, LLC Reviews

- Reviewed on November 13, 2018

Advice to law firm management: There really needs to be a training week or shadowing program when a new employee is hired. Hiring managers should not assume that a new employee can handle day to day full responsibilities without being taught by a superior or someone who has been working at the firm. If the firm wants things done right, train the employees and don't be so hard on them from the beginning.

Pros: If you want to touch base on a lot of the areas of law, this law firm has that and you get to familiarize yourself with all different kinds of practice areas.

Cons: Everyone here has been at Beattie Padovano for years so it is difficult to be a new employee and be a self-starter right away. There isn't someone you can really go ask questions to and it is very old school. If you do not feel comfortable wearing button-down blouses and blazers daily, this is not the place for you. There is a no denim policy because the hiring manager "does not do denim" which is crazy considering it is 2018. Basically, if you want to be in a work environment in the 1900's, this is for you. No sneakers, just loafers/flats, etc. The first memo you will receive is a dress code listing what men and women can and cannot wear.

Partners to Avoid and Why: The Partners are actually not that bad. The attorneys in general know what they are doing (obviously). They can be pushy and want the work done right away, but that is typical in any law firm. The people you need to avoid are your co-workers sitting next to you. They are resentful, spiteful, and unwilling to assist in any matter you are trying to handle. People seem either miserable working here in general or are just rude people in general.

Favorite Things About this Firm: Picked up on a lot of new practice areas in the legal field, which I can now take to any bigger firm. I will have no issues adjusting to the level of work at another busy law firm because the work here was the most high pressured high mounted environment I have ever seen.

Advice to law firm management: Make the environment a better place to work. Distribute more manageable deadline assignments and don't pressure the secretaries so much.

Pros: This place is the worst. One good thing was the location of the firm and the building the firm was in. But that doesn't actually have to do with the firm.

Cons: Workload is impossible to get to. They make everything unmanageable. They will do whatever it takes to make you feel useless and helpless. I had to cry for help to try to do my assignments.

Partners to Avoid and Why: Other than one particular attorney who was somewhat a little understanding, the rest of them were the worst type of attorneys.

Favorite Things About this Firm: The location of the firm and the convenience that it was less than a 10 minute drive. But I prefer to commute one hour to a better firm than be able to almost walk to my job.
