Train, act like their staff matters even if they’re not employees or martyrs.
Money is decent
Horrible work environment. They provide little to no training, just a verbal once over then talk bad about you when you don’t do it right. No examples or TRAINING. It doesn’t matter if you have love ones or kids to care for, they expect no room for family emergencies and when you have one, expect lots of scrutiny when you get back. I lost two immediate family members in the same week, and I didn’t get any flowers sent to the funeral home, or even a mass email letting the attorneys know why I wasn’t in, or any well wishes to my family. But that’s because I was a staff employee, the attorneys get the sympathy emails etc. I was even called up as my family member was in hospice for less than 24hours getting questioned on things I had already told my coworker about. They’re so bad in shape I couldn’t get 24 hours w my family member as he was dying. My coworker thought she was a supervisor. not sure why she was placed on such a pedestal when she showed no respect for anyone, even the lead attorney( her words) It started out as a 37.5 hour week week, to my job required 45-50 hours, first two weeks of every month to get the work done ... as if my family life didn’t matter or was there. Very demanding and overworked for one person. Never have I experienced such chaos in a law firm. Truly disgusting. When the time came for me speak up about my challenges, all I got was “ I can’t believe we just spent the last five minutes talking about this” and “ I’m shocked”. They didn’t want to hear me out or cared what I had to say. When my two weeks were put in, they didn’t “honor” my date ( even after I offered to stay longer) and told me I could go. Really class act this place. I respect the lead attorney in charge, I have nothing bad to say about him. The rest of the firm seems like everyone is against each other. They are money hungry and cut throat with each other within the firm. The accounting department needs a lot of work and needs to be knocked down a few notches since they’re staff employees. Too many chiefs, not enough Indians.
