Become a part of this firm not thinking of it as a stepping stone. Think long term and take part in their generous profit sharing benefit. Make this firm your family.

This firm wants to see the best in all of their staff. They treat everyone with dignity and respect and make the whole environment a professional one. I was able to take some shares in the company and it just proves that they really want you to become a part of the firm.

Communication can sometimes get mixed up as to who is to do what so the company needs to work on that more. You will at times work long hours.

Overview

Why Leonard Carder, LLP is an Exciting Place for Attorneys and Staff

Leonard Carder, LLP is not your average law firm. With a rich history dating back to the Great Depression, this firm has been at the forefront of labor struggles on the West Coast for over seven decades. Founded by Richard Gladstein and Aubrey Grossman, along with Norman Leonard and later William Carder, Leonard Carder has dedicated itself to providing legal counsel and representation to unions and workers fighting for their rights.

One of the firm's most notable clients is the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU), a progressive labor union that Leonard Carder has had the privilege of representing since its inception. The firm has played a pivotal role in the ILWU's fight for economic security, workplace safety, and industrial democracy on the West Coast waterfront. In addition to their work with the ILWU, Leonard Carder has also defended Harry Bridges and other progressives during the anti-Communist witch hunts of the 1940s and 50s, aided conscientious objectors during the Vietnam War, and assisted numerous other labor unions in organizing and representing workers.

As the firm has grown over the years, its attorneys have remained dedicated to the principles set forth by its founders. They are passionate about advancing workers' rights and representing the labor movement. Today, Leonard Carder proudly represents international and local labor unions in both the private and public sectors. Their clients span a wide range of industries, including longshore, maritime, hospitality, transportation, construction, utility, technical, and professional sectors.

In recent decades, Leonard Carder has expanded its mission by protecting and advancing workers' rights through class action lawsuits. They have taken on cases to enforce wage and hour and other employment laws, ensuring that workers receive fair compensation for their hard work. Additionally, the firm represents dozens of pension, health, and other employee benefit plans, advocating for the well-being of workers, retirees, and their dependents.

Working at Leonard Carder, LLP offers attorneys and staff a unique opportunity to be part of a firm with a rich history and a strong commitment to social justice. The firm's dedication to the labor movement and its clients is evident in every case they take on. Attorneys have the chance to work on high-profile cases that have a real impact on workers' lives and the labor movement as a whole.

The firm also provides a supportive and collaborative work environment. Attorneys and staff have the opportunity to learn from experienced lawyers who have dedicated their careers to labor law. The firm encourages professional growth and provides resources for continuing education and development.

In addition to the rewarding work, Leonard Carder offers competitive benefits and compensation packages. Attorneys and staff receive comprehensive health insurance, retirement plans, and generous vacation and leave policies. The firm values work-life balance and understands the importance of taking care of its employees.

Joining Leonard Carder, LLP means becoming part of a legacy of fighting for workers' rights and social justice.
