FLH has an outstanding track record of providing pro bono representation for individuals in need. Through a dedicated program encouraging 100% attorney participation, FLH logs thousands of hours every year in pro bono service. Cases handled by FLH attorneys on a pro bono basis include veterans' appeals before the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the representation of pro se litigants at all levels in the federal court system. In this capacity, FLH has helped numerous veterans pursue benefits from the U.S. Government for unpaid medical bills and unpaid disability benefits. FLH has also represented federal prisoners who allege human rights violations in connection with their incarceration. In a case that went all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court, FLH represented a farmer pro bono who was sued by Monsanto for patent infringement when the farmer planted seed he purchased on the open market from a local grain elevator.
