Freeborn & Peters, LLP Reviews

- Reviewed on September 13, 2017

Advice to law firm management: Employees that aren't part of the ""in-group"" are not being used to the best of their potential, and I have seen them become discouraged as a result. Figure out how to make the office more merit-based without damaging the otherwise pleasant vibe.

Pros: The work-life balance is pretty reasonable, and they have occasional parties and events that help build team rapport. All and all, the atmosphere tends to be pretty laid back. That said, these strengths also sometimes actually contribute to certain negative elements of the firm's culture becoming more noticeable.

Cons: Office politics come into play far too often. Some people get away with doing less than their fair share, or with receiving desirable work they otherwise wouldn't get, because of their connections with others in the firm and their seniority.

The founding vision of Barack Ferrazzano in 1984 was to create a new model that departed from the standard "mega-firm" approaches and, instead, focused on delivering efficient, team-oriented services of the highest quality. Our founding partners - two highly respected law professors at Northwestern University and two former members of a prominent Chicago firm - were soon joined by like-minded colleagues also seeking an alternative to the large law firm environment. We have grown steadily ever si...

I was incredibly happy with the site. I thought it was very easy to use; had significantly more postings than any other site (or combination of sites); and provided a lot of useful information. (the number, and caliber, of job postings). Exactly what I was looking for – I have 5 years’ experience and was looking for a lateral move or an in-house position, and that’s exactly what I found!
