Butler Rubin Saltarelli & Boyd LLP Reviews

- Reviewed on July 21, 2017

Advice to law firm management: I really do wish that the partners would make themselves more available to the associates in the office. I think it would help the firm out a lot.

Pros: The associates at this firm are very team oriented and there are many people who are experts in their chosen field. This is a great place to learn and I enjoy coming to work every day.

Cons: Sometimes it feels like the partners are never in the office. They probably are, but nobody sees them. They aren't very accessible and I haven't had a chance to get to know them.

Overview

Formed in 1980, Chicago-based Butler Rubin has established itself as a well-known law firm assisting clients nationally and internationally in complex business disputes, including antitrust law, class actions, defense of corporate directors and officers, labor and employment law, reinsurance, insurance, healthcare litigation, and insolvency. We have been repeatedly cited for excellence in litigation by virtually every organization reviewing law firm performance – from Chambers USA and U.S. News/Best Lawyers to local community groups where we donate our time on a pro bono basis. Today, the firm works throughout the United States and abroad. From representing clients in international and national insurance and reinsurance disputes to arguing summary judgment in an antitrust case in U.S. District Court, our practice is diverse and our approach innovative. Since a group of partners from one of the world’s largest law firms left to form Butler Rubin more than 35 years ago, our firm has continually worked to be a different type of law firm. The original concept continues today – to be a boutique litigation firm where the needs of clients serve as the guiding force, where a smaller environment promotes demonstrated teamwork and true collaboration, and where lawyers feel confident in a welcoming culture that always looks for new and more efficient ways to partner with clients. Our goal as a firm is not just superior work. It is complete client satisfaction.

The founding vision of Barack Ferrazzano in 1984 was to create a new model that departed from the standard "mega-firm" approaches and, instead, focused on delivering efficient, team-oriented services of the highest quality. Our founding partners - two highly respected law professors at Northwestern University and two former members of a prominent Chicago firm - were soon joined by like-minded colleagues also seeking an alternative to the large law firm environment. We have grown steadily ever si...
