Advice to law firm management: Check in on people and make sure that they aren't getting overwhelmed and if they are make sure that you get some people to help them.

Pros: There is never a dull day while working at this firm and you can expect to keep busy while you are here.

Cons: Some people may be overwhelmed by how much the workload is here and how fast everything moves in an average day.

Advice to law firm management: Treat your employees better. Increase the raises.

Pros: The firm is friendly and treats its associates well. Coworkers become like family. It provides a fun culture to its employees.

Cons: Things can be cliquish among staff and employees. Raises could be better.

Simply put, we are looking for law students who have the talent, dedication and desire to become great lawyers. Sedgwick offers unparalleled opportunities for new lawyers to receive training, mentoring and the hands-on experience necessary to develop into mature and effective litigators and client counselors. We are looking for individuals who are as committed and excited about the practice of law as we are. Pro bono

The firm has not reported whether it counts pro bono hours towards the minimum billable hours requirement. Pro bono hours are counted the same as billable hours for the purposes of year-end bonuses.

Summer associate program


For law students, a summer at Sedgwick means a season of practical experience because our summer associates are given real work on active cases - the same type of assignments first-year attorneys receive. Summer associates assist in the development of case strategy, review and write memos and briefs, and help prepare for and attend depositions and court appearances, while working with partners and associates as possible. Each assigning attorney provides feedback directly to the summer associate following the completion of each project. We also provide a formal review in the middle of the summer and at the end of the program.

Everyone Loves LawCrossing

LawCrossing has the most listings of any job board I have used. It's actually a great site. The website had a lot of detail. It’s nice that you don't have to go through a recruiter if you don't want to. You can actually contact the law firm directly for the positions listed. LawCrossing had a ton of great features.
