Ft. Lauderdale office is seeking a patent prosecution attorney with 3-5 years of experience from an AmLaw 100 firm. A technical background is required, preferably from one of the following areas: mechanical engineering, optical physics, materials science, electrical engineering, system integration, software, cloud computing, biomedical engineering, etc. Candidates must be admitted to the USPTO and have experience with patent application preparation and/or prosecution.
The candidate must have passed a state bar (for attorneys only) and the USPTO patent Bar. Should have 3+ years of “substantial” patent preparation and prosecution of matters “originating” in the US. A Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a comparable engineering background is preferred. Telecommunications experience and/or actual engineering experience is a plus. A book of business is also a plus.
