The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is offering an exciting opportunity for second and third-year law students to join our Fall Legal Internship Program in our Mergers II division. As a semester law clerk, you will have the chance to work closely with our team of attorneys, economists, and other investigative staff on various projects and cases. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop your legal skills in a real-world setting.
We are currently accepting applications for our Fall semester internships, which run from late January to early April. The application period for Spring semester internships is from early September to early November. To ensure consideration, we encourage students to submit their applications before the deadline as interviews and offers are extended on a rolling basis. Please note that our internships are unpaid, but students must receive course credit to participate.

In your application, please include a cover letter, resume, law school transcript, a maximum seven-page writing sample (excerpts of a longer sample are permitted), and three academic and/or professional references.
As a legal intern in our Mergers II division, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of tasks, including conducting legal and factual research, interviewing witnesses, writing legal memoranda, and preparing documents and exhibits. We are looking for candidates who are eager to learn and have a strong interest in antitrust law. Our ideal candidate would be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week and be able to come into the office on Thursdays.
