Job Title: Tax Senior - Credits & Incentives
Job Responsibilities:
- Identify eligible federal credits and incentives (C&I) generating activities and manage the analysis and documentation of such opportunities.
- Collaborate with colleagues across various departments to facilitate tax incentive engagements.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of deliverables including presentation decks, executive summaries, credit calculations, completed tax forms, supporting files, memoranda, and IRS audit responses.
- Manage federal credits and incentives opportunities such as Research and Development tax credit/deduction analyses, New Markets Tax Credit, Qualified Opportunity Zones, Sustainability and Renewable Energy tax credits, and other federal credit incentive service offerings.
- Deliver value to clients by identifying opportunities and advising on potential benefits and eligibility requirements.
- Maintain and develop strong internal and client relationships.
- Leverage extensive technical skills developed through a growing reputation in a given industry/service offering to solve complex issues.
- Demonstrate sound judgment and instincts in evaluating complex scenarios involving various credits and incentives opportunities.
- Develop, mentor, and motivate Consultants, providing counseling and career guidance.
- Identify potential issues and propose solutions to leadership, implementing process improvement strategies.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory tax developments and work with the team to present potential opportunities to clients.
Education and Experience Information:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, engineering, technology, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a related field.
- Proven knowledge of R&D tax incentives experience and/or experience with New Markets Tax Credits, Qualified Opportunity Zones, or Renewable Energy tax credits.
- Demonstrated analytical and research skills, as well as effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple, competing priorities.
- One of the following accreditations obtained, in process, or willing and able to obtain:
- Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA.
- If not CPA eligible: Licensed attorney, Enrolled Agent, Project Management Professional (PMP), Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA), or Professional Engineer.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM.
- Experience with tax technical research (., CCH, Hein, Lexis, RIA, etc.).
- Experience with Federal or State and Local C&I.
- Experience with sustainability technologies or environmental sciences.
- Previous experience in a Big 4 or large CPA or law firm.
Salary Information:
- The wage range for this role is estimated to be between $66,570 and $151,580. This range takes into account various factors including skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
- Participation in a discretionary annual incentive program may be available, subject to rules governing the program and based on individual and organizational performance.
