Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Insurance Coverage Litigation Associate to join its litigation and dispute resolution practice in St. Louis. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of litigation experience, with a focus on insurance coverage litigation, and a strong academic background. This role involves working collaboratively with partners and clients, handling all aspects of litigation, and analyzing complex insurance coverage issues.

Location:

  • St. Louis, MO

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda.
  • Draft case evaluations, pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents.
  • Manage all aspects of litigation, from inception through trial and appeal (where applicable).
  • Conduct, propound, and respond to discovery requests, including documents, written discovery, and depositions.
  • Collaborate with clients, witnesses, experts, and opposing counsel.
  • Analyze insurance coverage and extra-contractual disputes, including drafting coverage opinions and analyses.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of litigation experience, with a focus on insurance coverage litigation.
  • Strong writing and case management skills, with experience in client and adversary interaction.
  • Excellent oral advocacy skills.
  • Federal District Court or Appellate clerkship experience is a plus.
  • Experience with PFAS (polyfluoroalkyl substances) litigation is a plus.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in Missouri and in good standing.
  • Must provide a law school transcript and writing sample with the application.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Missouri (required).
