Tesla is currently seeking a Sr. Counsel, Regulatory to join our legal team and provide strategic policy and business development advice and counsel pertaining to Tesla's business and products. This role will involve monitoring, advising, and counseling on new product development, general regulatory support, and strategic advising on policy development and advocacy in the automotive industry, including autonomous vehicles and ride-hailing. The successful candidate will also ensure compliance with applicable federal and state rules, regulations, and statutory requirements.

Responsibilities include:

• Advise on and directly support regulatory investigations and inquiries in all markets
• Support and advise various departments within Tesla, such as Homologation, Engineering, Service, and Autopilot
• Make recommendations on complex legal problems and determine when consultation or coordination with Tesla leadership, regulators, or outside counsel is necessary

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor Degree from an ABA accredited law school and an active member of a state bar in good standing
• 6-10+ years of experience in regulatory, government relations, and/or product liability
• Ability to absorb and synthesize a wide variety of laws and regulations
• Strong problem-solving, research, and project management skills
• Preferably, experience in the automotive, autonomous vehicle, or ride-hailing industry
