Vernis & Bowling, an AV-rated insurance defense law firm, is seeking a Legal Assistant to join our team in Hollywood, Florida. This is a full-time position with benefits, including medical insurance, voluntary vision and dental insurance, voluntary life insurance, short and long term disability, and a 401(k) plan.

As a Legal Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to multiple attorneys and performing a variety of tasks related to legal case management. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1-3 years of first-party property experience and knowledge of state and federal law. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication are also required for this role.

Responsibilities:

- Heavy calendaring and scheduling for attorneys and client reporting and court deadlines
- Preparation and drafting of correspondence
- Trial preparation and review
- Organization of discovery documents and investigative files
- Billing and drafting motions

Requirements:

- Minimum of 1-3 years of first-party property experience
- Knowledge of state and federal law
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and legal case management programs
- Strong proofreading, typing, and editing skills
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- High level of professionalism and dedication to providing outstanding service
