Job Title: Intellectual Property Prosecution Paralegal

Job Responsibilities:
The Intellectual Property Prosecution Paralegal is responsible for supporting attorneys in all aspects of . and international patent prosecution. This role requires a detailed understanding of intellectual property practices, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage complex dockets and deadlines. The key responsibilities include:

- Preparing and filing . and PCT patent applications along with associated prosecution documents with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
- Monitoring and managing patent dockets to ensure compliance with deadlines and coordinating follow-ups with attorneys and clients as necessary.
- Drafting and revising various legal documents such as Information Disclosure Statements (IDSs), assignments, declarations, and reporting letters.
- Conducting preliminary reviews of Office Actions and preparing necessary documentation for attorney review.
- Maintaining accurate and organized client files using the law firm's document management system.
- Corresponding with clients, foreign associates, and government agencies regarding patent matters.
- Coordinating file transfers, conducting conflict checks, managing client intake, and handling file closings.
- Assisting attorneys in preparing reports and updates related to client intellectual property portfolios.
- Staying informed about current USPTO and PCT rules and procedures.
- Meeting monthly billable-hour targets by accurately recording time entries.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and docketing systems.
- High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks in a high-volume environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.

Physical Factors:
The paralegal must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations. The role requires the ability to talk or hear regularly, frequent sitting and use of hands for handling or feeling, occasional standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms. The ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds is also required. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Working Conditions:
The employee is expected to work the hours necessary to complete their work, which may occasionally exceed a typical 40-hour work week.

Education and Experience Requirements:
A paralegal certificate is preferred for this position.
