Job Title: Manager of Business Development

Job Responsibilities:
The Manager of Business Development at the law firm is tasked with overseeing the development and execution of business strategies for the Corporate & Finance practices. This role requires close collaboration with practice group leaders and attorney members to formulate business plans, conduct pitches and proposals, and manage daily business development and marketing activities. Additionally, the Manager may support industry or sector initiatives and acts as the primary liaison between the practice group and the Marketing Department. Key responsibilities include:

- Collaborating with practice chairs and working group leaders to create business development strategies, identify trends, opportunities, and cross-selling prospects.
- Serving as a trusted advisor to lawyers to enhance their business development efforts by developing business plans and offering coaching on best practices.
- Managing marketing and business development activities, including maintaining practice/industry descriptions, managing League Tables, coordinating webinars and events, and supporting profile-raising opportunities.
- Developing compelling pitches, proposals, and RFP responses tailored to client opportunities.
- Creating and updating marketing collateral, website descriptions, and other client-facing materials.
- Facilitating the integration of lateral partners and counsel, including coaching on new business opportunities.
- Developing and managing practice budgets, evaluating, and tracking ROI on business development initiatives.
- Collaborating with Business Development Managers across practice groups to identify cross-selling opportunities.
- Leading strategy and execution for directories and awards submissions, including Chambers.
- Identifying potentially media-worthy matters for the Media Relations team to implement PR, awards, and media placements.
- Supervising and mentoring assigned business development team members on various activities.
- Supporting the team as needed, including covering other practice groups during manager leaves.

Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required, with an advanced degree being a plus.
- A minimum of six years of marketing and business development experience is necessary, with prior experience in a law firm, financial services industry, or investment banking preferred.
- Specific experience and knowledge of corporate and finance practice are desired.
- Strong knowledge of law firms, professional services, or in-house legal organizations is essential.
- Strong writing skills and proficiency in a range of computer software applications, including MS-Word, MS-Excel, and MS-PowerPoint, are required.
- Experience with CRM, Foundation, and other marketing and financial databases is preferred.
- Exceptional client service, strong project management skills, ability to build rapport with partners, and effective leadership experience are crucial.
- Prior supervisory experience and the ability to drive new firm initiatives are necessary.
- Strong problem-solving skills are required.

Salary Information:
The anticipated base salary for the Manager of Business Development position is between $124,800 and $170,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on various factors, including the applicant's qualifications, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and, if applicable, the location from which the applicant will be performing the job.
