Overview:

- Nelson Mullins, an AmLaw 100 law firm, is seeking an experienced Information Security Analyst to join their Information Technology group in Columbia, SC.
- As the Information Security Analyst I, you will be responsible for implementing and managing cutting-edge security controls, ensuring compliance, and responding to emerging threats.
- This dynamic role offers the opportunity to actively enhance the Firm's security posture while staying up-to-date on evolving risks, technologies, and vulnerabilities.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain security plans, procedures, and checklists.
- Implement and manage tools such as firewalls, encryption software, and anti-virus programs.
- Handle incident management and response, including email security and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) systems.
- Investigate breaches and execute incident response protocols with precision.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 27001:2022, SOC II, and HIPAA.
- Monitor for security variances and recommend/implement improvements.
- Focus on vulnerability management, including identifying, assessing, and prioritizing vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with teams on remediation strategies and maintain an ongoing management process.
- Stay ahead of emerging threats and industry trends.
- Implement strategies to mitigate risks and assess third-party security risks.
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with project teams, resolve security tickets, and manage user requests.

Qualifications:

- At least two years of experience in IT system or security administration.
- Solid understanding of security tools.
- Proficiency in Active Directory, Microsoft Entra, Office 365, Defender, and NIST 800-53 standards.
- Accredited security certification such as Security+.
- Strong foundation in network security, encryption, key management, and vulnerability management tools.
- Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell/Python).
- Familiarity with tools such as ServiceNow, MS Flow, Nmap, Qualys, and Smartsheet.
- Experience using KQL (Kusto Query Language).
- Excellent analytical skills to proactively identify and address security issues and vulnerabilities.
