Job Title: Assistant Director for Career Services

Job Responsibilities:
The Assistant Director for Career Services at a reputed firm is tasked with providing comprehensive career and professional development services to students and alumni of the College of Law. The key responsibilities include:

- Advising students and alumni on career opportunities in both private and public sectors, including government, judicial clerkships, non-profit organizations, legal services, private law firms, corporations, and alternative careers.
- Offering guidance on job search strategies for out-of-state opportunities and positions within public or private international organizations.
- Providing professional development counseling through individual sessions and group programs.
- Encouraging and advising students as they explore various career paths and prepare for potential challenges.
- Assisting students in creating successful employment plans for their future.
- Reviewing student resumes, cover letters, and other employment application materials.
- Conducting mock interviews to prepare students for real-world scenarios.
- Assisting alumni in making lateral or vertical career transitions.
- Promoting and creating employment opportunities through job fairs, workshops, and mentoring programs.
- Coordinating on-campus events such as Lunch & Learns.
- Planning and organizing career-related programs in collaboration with faculty, staff, and law student organizations.
- Attending regular networking events to foster relationships with potential employers.
- Recruiting public interest, government, and private sector employers to participate in On-Campus Interviews and coordinating the annual On-Campus Career Fair.
- Assisting directors in organizing the Public Awards Program and networking with law firms and corporations for mentoring or internship programs.
- Performing other duties and special projects as assigned by senior leadership.

Education and Experience Information:
To qualify for the position of Assistant Director for Career Services, candidates must meet the following educational and experiential requirements:

- A Juris Doctor (.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school is mandatory.
- A minimum of five years of legal experience is required.
- Membership in the Florida Bar or another state bar, in good standing, is essential.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of legal employers, particularly in-state, and their hiring needs.
- An understanding of the methods and procedures for seeking professional legal employment is needed.
- Excellent communication skills are necessary to help students identify their strengths and navigate the job search process.
- Skills in event planning and promotion are crucial.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, counseling, and presentation skills are required.
- Proficiency in writing, editing, and proofreading is essential.
- Strong time management and organizational skills are necessary to handle frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
- The ability to maintain high ethical and professional standards and exercise good judgment in sensitive situations is critical.
- Physical agility and the ability to occasionally lift materials weighing up to 10-15 pounds are required.
- The role may require irregular work hours and transportation to meetings and events outside the campus.

Salary Information:
The position offers an annual salary of $70,000 for a full-time role.
