Job Title: Tax Senior, National Tax Controversy Services – Interest Analyzer
Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Senior within the National Tax Controversy Services Interest Analyzer practice at the company, you will be part of a team dedicated to assisting clients with federal interest matters and resolving federal tax controversies. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Preparing federal interest computations for various purposes such as financial statement reporting, tax planning, IRS and litigation settlement, interest reviews, and IRS refund claims.
- Assisting clients and company engagement teams with federal interest and IRS account-related matters.
- Preparing written correspondence to the IRS and company engagement teams regarding federal interest and IRS account-related matters.
- Communicating with the IRS on behalf of clients to resolve federal interest and IRS account-related matters.
Education and Experience Information:
Qualifications Required:
- 5+ years of federal interest computation experience.
- 5+ years of IRS account transcript research and comprehension experience.
- Experience with IRS, Treasury, Big 4 / large / boutique accounting firm, law firm, or relevant industry experience.
- Knowledge of TaxInterest Netting software or other comparable interest software.
- One of the following active accreditations obtained, in process, or willing and able to obtain:
- Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA.
- If not CPA eligible, one of the other designations listed below based on role requirements and business approval:
- Licensed attorney
- Enrolled Agent
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA)
- Ability to balance multiple assignments and other responsibilities while meeting prescribed deadlines.
- Professional demeanor and strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Excellent research and writing skills.
- Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2-3 days per week.
- Ability to travel up to 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
Qualifications Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM.
- Knowledge of Bloomberg Tax & Accounting Corporate Tax Analyzer software.
Salary Information:
The wage range for this role takes into account a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $69,930 to $159,120. Additionally, you may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, where an award, if any, depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.
