Job Responsibilities:

Legislative Intern:
- Assist with the research and writing of constituent correspondence.
- Conduct research on issues pertinent to legislation.
- Attend committee hearings and briefings on key legislation.
- Answer phone calls and manage inquiries.
- Draft memos on briefings and legislation as requested by staff members.
- Assist with mailing projects.
- Greet constituents and guests of the office.
- Conduct tours in the Capitol building for constituents.
- Attend various lectures and classes about the political process.
- Monitor floor action and legislative developments.
- Perform other projects as assigned.

Press Intern:
- Monitor the morning and afternoon news cycles at state, local, national, and international levels.
- Maintain a communications log.
- File articles and manage media assignments.
- Assist the press secretary with mass media printing.
- Draft newsletters and other communication materials.
- Monitor legislation and key events occurring in the district and state.
- Conduct tours in the Capitol building for constituents.
- Answer phone calls and manage inquiries.
- Greet constituents and guests of the office.
- Attend various lectures and classes about the political process.
- Perform other projects as assigned.
