Job Title: Tax Senior, Credits & Incentives - Multistate
Job Responsibilities:
The role of a Tax Senior in the Credits & Incentives (C&I) team involves working with one of the largest multistate tax practices in the United States. Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying, qualifying, and calculating tax credits and other incentives for clients.
- Advising clients on location strategy decisions and credits & incentives related to hiring and/or investments.
- Communicating effectively with project stakeholders, including internal parties and economic development representatives, to ensure alignment and understanding of tax strategies.
- Addressing complex state and local C&I tax issues using strategic and creative approaches.
- Combining tax consulting solutions with innovative technology to align the tax function with business objectives.
Education and Experience Information:
Required:
- A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is mandatory.
- A minimum of 2 years of multistate experience with a focus on credits and incentives.
- The ability to travel approximately 30%, depending on the work and the clients and industries/sectors served.
- One of the following accreditations must be obtained, in process, or the candidate should be willing and able to obtain:
- Licensed CPA in the state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA.
- If not CPA eligible:
- Licensed attorney
- Enrolled Agent
- CEcD (Certified Economic Developer), CREA (Certified Real Estate Appraiser), or CCIP (Certified Credits & Incentives Professional).
- Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
Preferred:
- An advanced degree such as a Master of Tax, JD, and/or LLM is preferred.
- Public accounting experience is preferred, especially within the Big 4, or an equivalent in law firms or industry.
- Excellent research and writing skills are highly valued.
