A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a full-time USPTO-registered Patent Prosecution Attorney to join its Electronics & Software Team. This position is ideal for candidates looking to focus on patent prosecution within software-related technologies in a collaborative, non-partnership track setting. The role offers a reduced billable hour requirement and the opportunity to work with innovative clients across multiple industries.

Location

Duties

• Draft and prosecute software-related . and international patent applications

• Support strategic patent portfolio development for technology clients

• Collaborate with internal teams and clients on IP strategy and counseling

• Conduct legal research and provide technical analysis on patent matters

• Prepare responses to Office Actions and participate in examiner interviews

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of patent prosecution experience, preferably in software technologies

• Must be registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)

• Prior experience with client counseling and portfolio strategy (preferred)

• Ability to manage complex legal tasks with minimal supervision

• Writing samples and academic transcripts will be requested during the application process

Education

• Degree in one of the following disciplines (or closely related fields):

  • Computer Engineering

  • Computer Science

  • Electrical Engineering

  • Mathematics

  • Physics

Certifications

• Active USPTO Registration Number
