Job Title: E-Billing Specialist
Job Responsibilities:
The E-Billing Specialist at the law firm is responsible for managing and supporting the firm's eBilling activities. The primary duties include handling support request claims from the Billing and Accounts Receivable (AR) team to assist with onboarding new eBill clients, adding timekeepers and rates to vendors, and resolving rejections and reviewing deductions. The specialist must monitor eBilling status 48 hours past submissions until they are accepted or approved for payment on the eBilling vendor site. Additional responsibilities include coordinating new client, matter, and timekeeper setups with the Finance Intake team, managing updates to client matters in BillBlast and all vendor sites, investigating eBilling rejections, and coordinating next steps and follow-ups to ensure actions are completed. The specialist acts as a liaison between billing, Client Operations Specialist, and legal teams to ensure timely timekeeper approvals. They also assist with eBilling submission issues, coordinate client requests for enhancements to electronic files, and conduct internal training on eBill sites. The role involves actively participating in identifying areas for improvement, recommending solutions to increase efficiency and effectiveness, and developing templates and implementation guidelines for each eBill vendor site for a smooth transition to eBilling. The specialist is also responsible for handling ad hoc requests as needed.
Education and Experience Information:
A four-year college or university degree in accounting, finance, information technology, or another quantitative field of study is preferred for this position. However, applicable work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. The candidate must be detail-oriented, project-focused, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. The preferred experience includes 4-6 years of law firm billing experience, preferably in a large law firm, with advanced eBilling experience. An understanding of complex billing arrangements, including split, multi-payor, alternative fees, and their impact on eBilling, realization, and write-offs, is beneficial. Advanced knowledge of eBilling vendor software such as Legal Tracker, Onit, Tymetrix, Collaborati, CounselLink, etc., is also preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office, Professional Service Time & Billing software (., Elite Enterprise, Elite 3E, Aderant), and the BillBlast eBilling platform is advantageous.
Salary Information:
The anticipated initial hourly rate for the E-Billing Specialist position is between and per hour, based on a workweek schedule. However, the actual initial hourly rate may be above or below this range and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant skills, training, experience, and other job-related factors, including the location where the position is filled, in accordance with applicable law. This is a non-exempt role paid on an hourly basis. The hourly rate is just one component of the law firm's total compensation and benefits package for professional staff, which includes, but is not limited to, a discretionary bonus, life, health, accident, and disability insurance, and a 401(k) plan.
