Job Title: Business Development Manager - IP
Job Responsibilities:
As a Business Development Manager within the Litigation business unit at the law firm, the primary objective is to drive revenue opportunities and enhance the firm's market presence. The responsibilities include:
- Strategic Collaboration: Work with Communications and other Business Development teams to deliver thought leadership that strengthens the firm's reputation and facilitates client interactions.
- Pitch Development: Assist partners in crafting pitch strategies and developing differentiated value propositions based on market and sector capabilities.
- Content Creation: Lead the creation of marketing collateral, presentations, bespoke pitches, and RFP responses. Assist attorneys with content drafting as needed.
- Client Engagement: Support partners with strategic in-person or virtual pitches, guiding them through best practice approaches.
- Market Intelligence: Collaborate with Research and Business Intelligence teams to share market insights and identify revenue opportunities.
- Database Management: Ensure the collection and maintenance of attorney experience and client information in the firm's experience database.
- Event Coordination: Provide input on events, sponsorships, and CLEs in collaboration with the Events team.
Education and Experience Information:
- Experience: A minimum of 7 years of marketing or business development experience is required, preferably in a legal or professional services environment.
- Leadership: Ability to coordinate the work of cross-functional project teams and foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Strategic Decision Making: Possess superb judgment and decision-making capabilities with a strategic mindset.
- Project Management: Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Conflict Resolution: Highly skilled in resolving conflicts and handling challenging interpersonal situations with diplomacy.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Problem Solving: Outstanding ability to analyze complex workstreams and develop efficient mitigation strategies.
- Technical Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience with firm marketing systems; proficiency with generative AI tools is a plus.
- Education: A four-year college degree or equivalent experience is required; an MBA is preferred.
Salary Information:
The expected salary range for this position varies depending on location:
- California Major Markets (including San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, Orange County, Santa Monica): $101,000 - $180,000
- New York City: $116,000 - $180,000
- National: $91,000 - $153,000
The compensation and benefits package is considered comprehensive and competitive, with the level of pay within the range dependent on various job-related factors, such as qualifications, relevant experience or education, specific skills or expertise, and geography. Additional compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined based on both firm and individual performance.
