Job Title: Trusts & Estates Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with the preparation and execution of estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney.
- Manage probate and estate administration matters from initiation to completion, involving court filings, asset inventories, and accounting.
- Coordinate trust funding, which includes deed transfers, beneficiary designations, and asset retitling.
- Prepare and file inheritance, estate, and fiduciary income tax returns, such as forms 706 and 1041.
- Maintain timelines, task lists, and calendars to ensure smooth progression of matters.
- Communicate professionally with clients, beneficiaries, financial advisors, and government offices.
- Draft correspondence, summaries, and checklists for internal and client use.
- Maintain accurate digital files and time records using the firm's systems.
Education and Experience Information:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal in trusts and estates, preferably in a law firm or trust company setting.
- Deep familiarity with probate procedures and estate administration in New Jersey; experience in New York is a plus.
- Ability to prepare fiduciary and estate tax returns or assist accounting professionals in the process.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in case management.
- Tech-savvy with experience using Microsoft Office, Adobe, and practice management systems (., Actionstep or equivalent).
- Experience with WealthCounsel/WealthDocx/ElderCounsel/ElderDocx is advantageous.
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent education is preferred.
- Notary Public certification or willingness to obtain it.
Salary Information:
- Competitive salary based on experience, with a pay range between $65,000 and $80,000 per year.

- The position is full-time, with a work schedule from Monday to Friday and requires in-person attendance.
