Job Title: Proposals Manager
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate all aspects of the pitch and RFP (request for proposal) process, including creating project plans, schedules, outlines, and deliverables.
- Develop and create written content to communicate key messages and highlight the high-value services provided by the law firm, promoting the firm's service offerings and key individuals to both internal and external audiences for new business opportunities.
- Lead project teams to respond to RFPs and manage multi-practice proposals effectively.
- Regularly interface with lawyers to understand their practices and evaluate business opportunities.
- Coordinate relevant client, industry, and market research.
- Explore and develop firm-level client value positioning statements to distinguish the law firm in the marketplace.
- Liaise and build relationships with other business service departments within the law firm, including Finance, Legal Project Management, Knowledge Management, Pro Bono, Office of the General Counsel, and more to facilitate information gathering for RFPs and pitches.
- Analyze and report on metrics to help the law firm better understand and improve the RFP and pitch processes.
- Support the upkeep of the pitch and proposal database and maintain marketing materials (bios, client/matter lists, etc.) to support overall department operations.
- Provide creative ideas for highlighting the firm's expertise and innovative ways of pitching services.
- Document and share best practices with team members and attorneys.
- Lead and mentor junior team members across the Client Development team.
Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role in an industry or professional services firm is required.
- An interest in and ability to understand the legal/business environment, including industry and related practice terminology, is important.
- Ability to work with complex subject matters and think strategically, including assessing information, anticipating issues and outcomes, and making effective decisions.
- Strong time management skills and proven abilities to initiate, manage, and deliver multiple complex projects are essential.
- Energetic and enthusiastic team player.
- Excellent writing and communication skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Flexibility to adjust work schedule according to workload demands and evolve with the position as required.
Salary Information:
- The anticipated compensation range for this position is $120,000 - $160,000.
- The actual salary offered will be based on a number of factors including but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
