Job Title: Data Governance Lead

Job Responsibilities:
The Data Governance Lead is responsible for enhancing data governance initiatives within the organization by utilizing Collibra data governance tooling. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of Collibra implementation, data governance frameworks, metadata management, and regulatory compliance. The incumbent will work closely with business and engineering stakeholders to promote data governance adoption, improve data quality, and ensure compliance with industry standards. Key responsibilities include:

- Leading the design, deployment, and configuration of Collibra to align with enterprise data governance strategies.
- Customizing workflows, operating models, and integrations within Collibra.
- Defining and maintaining Collibra metadata models, taxonomies, and business glossaries.
- Developing and enforcing data governance policies, standards, and best practices across the organization.
- Driving data lineage, metadata management, and stewardship programs.
- Implementing data quality rules and ensuring continuous monitoring of data assets.
- Integrating Collibra with data catalogs, ETL tools, BI platforms, and data lakes such as Snowflake, AWS, Azure, Informatica, and Tableau.
- Automating metadata ingestion and governance workflows using Collibra APIs and scripting languages like Groovy, Python, and Java.
- Collaborating with IT teams to ensure seamless Collibra integration with data management ecosystems.
- Ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA by leveraging Collibra’s compliance modules.
- Conducting data governance assessments and audits to ensure adherence to governance policies.

Education and Experience Information:

Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in data governance, metadata management, or data management.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Collibra, including configuration, workflows, and metadata modeling.
- Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, such as DAMA DMBOK and DCAM.
- Experience integrating Collibra with data platforms, ETL tools, and BI tools.
- Proficiency in Collibra APIs, Groovy scripting, SQL, or Python for workflow automation and metadata ingestion.
- Experience with data lineage, data catalogs, and data stewardship programs.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks, including GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA.
- Proven ability to learn new technical applications quickly.

Preferred:
- Collibra Ranger or Collibra Expert Certification.

Salary Information:
Salaries for the Data Governance Lead position vary by location and are influenced by various factors, including the relevant market, skills, experience, and education of the selected candidate. An estimated salary range for this role, if located in Illinois, is between $132,000 and $150,000. The compensation package also includes bonus eligibility and a comprehensive benefits program.
